Why Elope?

In recent years, many couples have gravitated towards elopement-style weddings rather than traditional large ceremonies. The allure of an elopement lies in its simplicity and intimacy, allowing the couple to focus on their love and commitment without the stress and expense of a grand event. Elopements often take place in breathtaking locations, such as secluded beaches, mountain tops, or charming private properties, providing a unique and memorable backdrop for their vows. This style of wedding also offers the flexibility to incorporate personal touches and meaningful rituals, unhindered by rigid timelines and extensive guest lists. For many, the idea of a private celebration, shared only with a few loved ones or even just the couple themselves, is more appealing and reflects their personal values and desire for a deeply personal experience. Additionally, elopements often prove to be more cost-effective, freeing up resources for other priorities like travel, a home, or future adventures together. In essence, couples choosing to elope are often seeking a wedding that is authentic, heartfelt, and truly reflective of their unique love story.

Choosing a venue or location

Couples eloping often choose an Airbnb, private property, or small wedding venue to save money. Alternatively, you can invest in a destination adventure elopement overseas with just the couple, photographer, videographer, and celebrant. Some of my favorite venues include The Lakehouse Folk, Forget Me Not Weddings, and various private properties.
